IX International Forum "Geo-Cultural Space: Smart Technologies in Education and Social" was opened at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Linguists, methodologists, cultural, literate researchers and teachers of various countries attend the forum to examine the current problems of the national communities in regards of the humanities. The Session also provides for the better cooperation between the countries, the enhancement of cultural relations in real and virtual formats, development of the culture of interpersonal relations, integration of scholars` research and pedagogical potential in order to create innovative intercultural educational and scientific environment.
The keynote speakers and presenters of the forum in real time and online are from Georgian, American, Japanese, Italian, Russian, Slovak, Armenian, Belorussian, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Chinese, Bulgarian, Scottish, Ukrainian, Finnish, Crimean, Belgian and Taiwanese high educational institutions,
IX International Forum will discuss the innovative directions of teaching theory and practice, intercultural and migration problems of adaptation, bilingual education and translation, smart technologies, philological and literary issues. At the end of the forum, the participants will be sum up the forum and the proposals will be taken on the issues to be discussed in the next forums.

‘Next Steps on the Integration of the European Union` – was a topic of the Presentation and discussion held by the GCSD, Georgian Centre of Security and Development at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

The GCSD organized the meeting to shed more light on all the topical issues related to the Georgia`s accession to the EU, and to involve various stakeholders in the discussion of the most important and timely issues.

The meeting attracted BSU students, NGOs, scholars, educators and the local media.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the book presentation – “Letters from the Istanbul’s Georgian Cloister” - a research by the group of scholars at Niko Berdzenishvili Institute, BSU. The research project “Epistolary and Memoir Heritage of the Istanbul’s Georgian Cloister” was sponsored by the Shota Rustaveli National Foundation; Since then, the scholars were compiling the volume during 2013-2016. It includes unique materials from the archives and the library at the Church cum Monastery in Istanbul, which belongs to the Georgian Catholics.

Faculty of Tourism at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University held VI international scientific practical conference “Tourism, Economics and Buisiness”. The scholars from Germany, Norway, Ukraine, Belorussia, Turkey, Azerbaijan,Lithuania, Kirgizstan, delegates from the tourism industry delivered over 100 papers during the two day’s conference; The conference discussed prospects of the tourism development locally and globally,
The practical part of the conference was held in the picturesque Machakhela gorge, where the participants had an opportunity to visualize the tourism infrastructure and the tourism products. The forum will join forces of the scholars, experts, professionals and the business representatives to raise awareness and popularize the tourism potential of the Machakhela gorge.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University held a event: ‘Month of the German Language’ festival with the slogan – Three Countries – One Language.
Envoys from the Embassies of Germany, Austria, Switzerland discussed the importance of the Georgia-Germany diplomatic relations, and talked on the history the 25th anniversary of these relations. The presenters talked about the Associate Professor at Ilia State University Tamar Tsopurishvili delivered a lecture on the topic: “Ladies in the German Language World”. The event ended with the quiz for the students and the school pupils.
