The Polish delegation payed a visit to Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Lukasz Poritski, Deputy Marshal of the Lubusz Voivodeship, Violeta Harejlac, Ljubus Parliament Speaker, Radoslaw Brodzyk, Director of the Office of External Cooperation and European Territorial Cooperation and Adam Capela Representative of the same office, met with BSU Rector, Merab Khalvashi, Deputy Rectors and deans of the Faculties.
On the recommendation of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia regarding the prevention of the possible spread of viral infections in Georgia, the administration of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University has decided to suspend the academic process. The teaching process at BSU will be suspended at all stages of the educational program from March 2 till March 16.
On February 24-27Representatives of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Nana Makaradze, Amiran Sharadze, and Nino Mikeladze took part in the kick-off meeting of the ERASMUS + CBHE project -Learning Optimization and Academic Inclusion Via Equitative Distance Teaching and Learning - Love Distance held at Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP). Representatives of the project partner institutions from Georgia, Spain, Romania, Israel - got acquainted with the goals, objectives, management, and other topical issues of the project. There was also a discussion on the mechanisms for selecting directions and courses for the implementation of distance learning in pilot projects at the project partner institutions.
Head of the Department of Translation and Interpretation of the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Associate Professor Ildiko Horvath has conducted training in the Synchronous Translation Lab at the Center for Translation and Interdisciplinary Studies at the Faculty of Humanities. The trainer introduced the modern method of teaching synchronous translation, program and field specifics and employment prospects to the members of the working group of the new master`s program “Conference Interpretation” of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The training was held in the framework of cooperation established with the leading EU Innovative Communication Technologies Production Company "Televic Education" and Georgian Company “Syntax”.
International plagiarism prevention day was celebrated at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University with several events: an exhibition of the final works of the Student Poster Competition, a video presentation and a quiz were held. The winners were given thematic gifts to raise awareness of plagiarism.
