Professor Natia Tsiklashvili, Deputy Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Lela Oniani, Associate Professor participated in Georgian-German Economic Forum in May 15-18 in Berlin. The research articles dealing with the actual economic issues were presented by the professors from Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Free University of Berlin, University of Hannover, Potsdam University, University of Munich, Humboldt University and Tbilisi State University. Professor Natia Tsiklashvili presented the paper “Labor Market of Georgia and Challenges of the European Union”; the title of the article presented by Associate Professor Lela Oniani was „Factors Influencing Effective Management of the Public Finances”.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Students are taking part in the “World Congress of Fertilizer and Pesticide Manufacturers” held in the hotel “Sheraton”. The event is organized by the organization “Technoprom Intex” and involves 110 companies from 35 countries. One of the best student-participants will visit Brussels to take part in the Summer School organized by the European Union.

Europe Days were marked at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University together with the International students. The aim of the event was the popularization of the European values and raising awareness in the youth. The BSU students and the students from various European universities-participants of the ERASMUS+exchange pogramme-spoke about the importance of the scholarship programme of EU and shared their experience with their counterparts. The representatives of the Strategic Development and International Relations Service provided the persons, interested in gaining education in Europe, with consultations as well as introduced exchange programmes to them.

Chairperson of the Committee on European Integration of the Parliament of Georgia Tamar Khulordava and the members of the European Parliament Friendship Team: Claire Mudd, Mihail Gallery and Roman Strasser met the students of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The visit in the frame of the European Days aimed at discussion of actual issues like foreign priorities of Georgia and the process of European integration.

Planting of Pterocarya fraxinifolia , one of the species of IUCN Red List, grown up on the basis of the Research Department of Conservation of Kolkheti mires and Water Eco-systems in the Nursery of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Phytopathology and Biodiversity Institutes, in the territory of the National Park within the Municipality of Lanchkhuti in the direction to Supsa, has been started. The event involved the students from Rustaveli State University, staff of the nursery of the Institute, State Representative –Governor in the Municipalities of Lanchkhuti Mr. Merab Tchanukvadze and other representatives of administration, Mr. Aleksandre Khabeishvii, Director of the National Park, Mr. Aleksandre Sarishvili, Mayor of the Municipality of Lanchkhuti, Mr.Besik Tabidze, Chair of Sakrebulo and the representatives of various institutions.
