Two institutional cooperation projects (Erasmus+Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) will be implemented by the participation of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The results of the ERASMUS + CBHE grant project concurs revealed the winner projects: „Enhance Research Capacity of Georgian Higher Education Institutions Through Scientific-research Services” and “Mediation: Training and Society Transformation”. The project “Enhance Research Capacity of Georgian Higher Education Institutions Through Scientific-research Services” aims at improving the research capacity available throughout Georgia through the development of the research services in Georgian universities. In the frame of the project the joint platform of research, that considers planning, implementation and evaluation of the research activities in Georgian universities will be created. Partner European Universities will carry out training sessions focusing on the improvement of the research management and data analysis skills of the administrative staff of the universities.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is hosting the Summer School “Multilingualism and the Role of Translation in Knowledge Globalization”. The Summer School is being implemented in the frame of the European Union Research and Innovation Programme “Horizon 2020”, project KEAC-BSR „Sharing Knowledge and Academic Culture in the Field of Humanities: Europe and Black Sea Basin, XVIII-XXI Centuries“. The project involves PhD and MA students and professors and teaching staff of the universities of the consortium from Georgia, the Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Russia, Macedonia and Bulgaria.

The sixth Summer School “EU Law and European Integration in South Caucasus” was opened in Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The aim of the Summer School is to highlight and discuss the European Integration in the South Caucasus Region from various aspects with particular focus on the way and scope European Integration can influence on the political institutions, security strategies, law and social and cultural issues of the region. Moreover, the school considers analysis of the development of the Post-soviet countries within the Europeanization pathway. The Summer School was opened by Prof. Tamar Siradze, Deputy Rector of BSU, Prof. Adam Makharadze, Dean of the Faculty of Law of BSU, Mr. Davit Gabaidze, Chair of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Vladimir Yakimchuk, Director of Kiev University of Law of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Professor Benedikt Harzl from the University of Graz, Austria.

Yuri Boshitski, professor at the University of Law of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, member of the International Academy of the Sciences of Informative Education, Ambassador of Peace has been granted the title of the Honorable Doctor of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University by the Decision of the Academic Board of the University for the contribution of the development of BSU.

Professor Yuri Boshtiski contributed a lot to the development of the only University of Law in Kiev. The core research activities of the professor are related to study of the theoretical foundations of the law of intellectual property and creation of the School of Law of the Intellectual property of the Ukraine.

Professor Yuri Boshtiski is the author of more than 350 research works including: 3 monographs, more than 20 monographs with co-authors, 5 books, more than 230 scientific publications. The Ukrainian scientist is the co-author of a six-volume Encyclopedia of Law, Dictionary of Legal Encyclopedia and the author of 10 encyclopaedia of the Kiev Law University in various directions of Law as well as the Encyclopedia of Civil Law. 24 post-graduates and PhD students, under his supervision, were awarded the relevant title.

Professor Yuri Boshtiski was involved in the elaboration of the Civil Code of the Ukraine. Moreover, he is the author of the Draft Law of the Ukraine on the Protection of the Scientific Discoveries and the member of the team working on the amendments to the Law on Higher Education.

Ukrainian scientist is a chief editor and deputy editor of numerous highly-ranked journals published in the Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia, Poland and other countries.

Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Faculty of Law of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdansk.

The agreement considers the implementation of the joint teaching, education and research projects. The exchange programmes for the students, teaching staff and professors will be launched as well as scientific conferences, trainings and seminars will be held in the frame of the memorandum.
