On July 4-7, an interim management meeting was held in Barcelona within the framework of the "Erasmus+" institutional development project "Optimization of teaching and academic inclusion using distance learning and teaching" (LoveDistance). Project manager Nana Makaradze and researchers - Irakli Kordzaia, Amiran Sharadze and Nino Mikeladze, who are also involved in the course piloting process, participated in the meeting hosted by the IL-3 Lifelong Learning Institute of the University of Barcelona.

A two-day international scientific conference: "The Black Sea at the Crossroads of Civilizations" was opened in Batumi`s Shota Rustaveli State University within the framework of the scientific-educational event "Blue Policy of the Black Sea". The reports on the history, archaeology, ethnology, philology, linguistics, folklore, tourism, ecology, toponymy, religious studies, philosophy, architecture, law and other areas of the Black Sea region will be presented at the conference. More than 200 participants from 14 countries (USA, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, Poland, Greece, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, etc.) will be taking part in the conference.The scientific conference will be held in a mixed format, 10 sections will work in the auditorium, and 6 - online, using the Zoom platform.The event is organized by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Niko Berdzenishvili Institute, Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Romanian National Academy of Sciences and Constanta Ovidius University.

Ambassador of Hungary to Georgia Anna Maria Shiko visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University within the framework of the Visegrad festival. At the meeting with the Rector of BSU, professor Merab Khalvashi, the representative of the diplomatic corps spoke about the existing relations between the two countries and focused on the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects. During the visit, the ambassador also met the students and introduced the program of the Visegrad festival to them. Under the auspices of the festival, Professor Chaba Hidnis gave a public lecture on the topic: "The meeting of 3 kings of Central Europe in Visegrad in 1335 and the issue of the introduction of defensive weapons in the Middle Ages"; Professor Jemal Karalidze presented a report on the topic: "International relations of Georgia in the 14th century".

Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi was visited by the delegation of Caucasus University of Kars. The members of the delegation met the Rector of the university, Professor Merab Khalvashi and the Head of Administration Nika Chkhartishvili and agreed on directions of future cooperation. They also talked about the scientific and cultural relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of joint research. It was planned to develop and implement joint educational programs. Within the framework of the visit, the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Professor Merab Khalvashi, and the Rector of the Kars Caucasus University, Professor Husnu Kafu signed a memorandum of cooperation.

About 70 students of the Faculty of Tourism of BSU are going to Germany for inrternship. Merab Khalvashi, Rector of BSU, Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara and Maia KHajishvili, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara congratulate the students on winning in the students’ project competition. During 3 months, students will go through practice in German high-class hotels and get to know the operation of all the main structural units of the hotel.International internship is being carried out within the framework of the memorandum signed between the International Institute of German Hospitality, Schwerin Baltic College of Germany and Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, based on the program funding of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara (in the current year, students` educational practice in Germany was financed in the amount of 100,165 GEL).
