Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is the first Georgian university to become a member of the leading European academic network for children’s rights, CREAN (Children’s Rights European Academic Network). BSU submitted its application for membership in the Children’s Rights European Academic Network (CREAN) in April of this year.
At BSU, World Bank Senior Economist Saida Ismailakhunova conducted a public lecture to students and interested parties on the topic: “The Future of Jobs and Skills in Georgia”. Participants received information about the changes that are developing as a result of new technologies and economic dynamics and affecting professional directions
Europe Day was celebrated at BSU with two large-scale events. The project “Rewrite the Knight in the Panther’s Skin” was renewed. BSU students, professors and the university’s rector, Tite Aroshidze, participated in the creation of the manuscript “The Knight in the Panther’s Skin”. The manuscript “The Knight in the Panther’s Skin” was filled with verses translated into English, Polish, Turkish and Kazakh by students and administration representatives from partner universities who were at BSU within the framework of international mobility. At Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, foreign students of the BSU One-Cycle Educational Porogramme of Medical Doctor (instructed in English) organized an ethnic culture day as part of AGNI FEST. AGNI FEST embodies the festival of fire in Indian culture and is a symbol of purity. The goal of the festival is to unite students and establish friendly ties. The event featured an ethnic part of the festival, which presented traditional clothing, dishes, and musical performances from different regions of India.
In the framework of the DAAD project “Implementing of SDG’s at Local and Regional Level in Georgia” (Fact-finding mission to establish close relations between Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University and HTW Berlin), an important study visit was carried out in Berlin from 5 to 10 May 2025, during which fruitful and interesting meetings were held with professors of the HTW Berlin, the head of the international office of the same university, and representatives of two Berlin municipalities.
