Professor and ABET expert Bill Hayter from the University of Massachusetts, USA, paid a working visit to Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The purpose of the visit is to assess the documentation and infrastructure of the English-language bachelor`s program in "Civil Engineering" of the Faculty of Technology and prepare it for accreditation. The expert met with the Rector of BSU, Tite Aroshidze, Deputy Rector, Tamar Siradze, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Gaioz Partskhaladze, and Head of the Faculty`s Quality Assurance Service, Gocha Chavleshvili. The parties discussed the work already carried out and planned activities in accordance with ABET standards. BSU is working on the bachelor`s program in "Civil Engineering" with the support of San Diego State University in the USA.

At BSU, Professor Fichtner Feigl, Clinical Director of the Department of General and Visceral Surgery at the University of Freiburg, gave a public lecture to students and professors of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health on the topic: "Surgical Anatomy of the Pancreas", and also spoke about his international professional experience in the field of surgery. During the meeting, BSU graduate, Head of the Department of Pancreatic and Sarcoma Surgery at the University of Freiburg, Doctor of Medicine, Sofia Chikhladze, introduced the students to own career path and provided information on the opportunities for obtaining medical education in Freiburg. The meeting was held in an interactive format, students had the opportunity to ask questions to the professors of the University of Freiburg and receive comprehensive answers to issues of interest to them.

The Clinical Director of the Department of General and Visceral Surgery of the University of Freiburg, Professor Fichtner Feigl, and the BSU graduate, Head of the Department of Pancreatic and Sarcoma Surgery of the University of Freiburg, Doctor of Medicine, Sofia Chikhladze, visited the BSU. The guests met with the Rector of BSU, Tite Aroshidze, Deputy Rector, Tamar Siradze, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care, Rusudan Khukhunaishvili, and Head of the Medicine Program, Kakha Kashibadze. The parties discussed the directions of future cooperation and the prospects for implementing joint projects. It was planned that the students of the BSU medical educational program would undergo internship at the University of Freiburg. During the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the University of Freiburg. The agreement provides for the exchange of students and professors, the implementation of educational and scientific projects, as well as the holding of conferences, symposiums, trainings and seminars.

A presentation of the international project “MACRO CLEAN” was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, attended by BSU Rector Tite Aroshidze, the project management team, university lecturers, and students. The project coordinator presented detailed information about the main objectives of the project and the planned activities. During the meeting, key research initiatives were also discussed, which are to be carried out through active collaboration between partner institutions from different countries.

A meeting of researchers and lecturers of the US Fulbright Exchange Program was held with BSU students. Within the framework of the event, American specialists who have been working for one academic year at various universities in Georgia (teaching/research) introduced students to the opportunities for studying and researching in master`s programs in the USA: selecting a university, preparing documentation, filling out an application, registering, and answered students` questions.
