From January 30 to February 4, students of the 4th year of the "Tourism" undergraduate educational program of the Faculty of Tourism of BSU took part in the "International Hotel Management" internship program held in Berlin. The internship program for the students of the Faculty of Tourism included an introduction to the hotels "25hours Hotels", "Scandic" "Henri", the food service company "L & D GmbH" and the design and event agency "Nok Akt", meeting with company representatives, discussions and student group meetings. Work to create innovative Georgian international events.

After successful completion of the "International Hotel Management" training course, the students of the undergraduate educational program of the Faculty of Tourism of BSU will go to Berlin, Germany for a week as part of the internship program. The targeted program planned for students includes informational meetings and visits to conceptual hotels (hotel 25hours, Catering Company L & D GmbH, Nok Akt in Father Graham, Hotel Scandic), within the framework of which hotel representatives will introduce students to the modern standards, trends and challenges of the hospitality industry.

Within the framework of the USAID Education for the Future program, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Mary Lou Fulton School of Education of Arizona State University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The purpose of the agreement is to promote the development of teacher training and education science programs in universities.

As part of the USAID Education for the Future program, a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) workshop is being held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Associate Professor Elizabeth Frias, Deputy Director of Arizona State University`s MLFTC Division, will discuss the key elements of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), differences in differentiated instruction, and the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Framework: Inclusion, Presentation, Action and expression with the BSU professors. BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi opened the meeting, welcomed the participants and spoke about the importance of the USAID Education for the Future program.

We are happy to inform you that the book "Polarization, Shifting Borders and Liquid Governance: Studies on Transformation and Development in the OSCE Region" was published on the order of the OSCE Academy and one of the chapters of the book is authored by Malkhaz Nakashidze, Professor and the Jean Monnet Chair of the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The title of this chapter is "Transformation of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine towards EU Membership", in which special attention is paid to the implementation of democratic reforms and recommendations of the European Union by candidate countries for EU integration.
