The meeting “The Influence of COVID -19 Pandemic on Vocational Education Institutions and Implementation of Employment-based Teaching” in the frame of the (UNDP) United Nations Development Programme “Establishment of Vocational Training and Modern Extension Systems in Georgian Agriculture” took place at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

On March 19th-27th, Prof. Jan van Zwieten, led the series of the online lectures on the main framework of the Mediation, phases, techniques and skills, for the listeners of the short-cycle programme in Mediation, at BSU. Professor Jan van Zwieten is the Rector of the Netherlands Business Academy, experienced mediator and trainer in Mediation. In the process of the lectures the attendees also had the opportunity to get introduced to the Netherlands experience in the field of mediation, practice the techniques of mediation via the role plays and learn more about the hidden motives in the process of mediation.

The Child Rights Center has been opened and the Memorandum of Cooperation signed at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University; the event was organized by UNICEF. The document was signed by the BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi and UNICEF Representative in Georgia Ghassan Khalil. The opening ceremony was attended by honorary Guests- the Ambassador of Estonia Riina Kaljurand, the Ambassador of Norway Helene Sand Andersen, Eka Dgebuadze, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Maia Khajishvili Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, Chairman of the Human Rights Issues Committee of the Supreme Council of Autonomous Republic of Ajara Tsotne Ananidze. The aim of the center in to enhance the culture of children’s right, encourage and protect realization of children’s rights.
