The Director of the French Institute in Georgia Mr. Jean-Yves Lavoir had a meeting with Mr. Merab Khalvashi, the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Mrs. Marine Giorgadze, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and the professors and teaching staff of the named faculty. The visit was aimed at enlisting BSU in the International University Agency of Francophonie and strengthening the cooperation between BSU and HEIs of France. Moreover, implementation of the joint projects and programmes together with the University of Rouen and the University of Rennes was planned.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the representatives of the Non-governmental Organization “Estonian Women’s Studies and Resource Centre” (ENUT). At the meeting with Mr. Merab Khalvashi, Rector of BSU, Mrs. Tamar Siradze, Deputy Rector, professors, teaching and administrative staff, Estonian experts discussed the issues related to the women’s economical, social and political enhancement methods, their achievements and challenges they have to face. The event took place in the frame of the international project “For the Protection of the Women and the Children’s Rights in the Region of Ajara” organized by the association “For Each Other”;

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Georgia. At the meeting with the Rector of BSU Mr. Merab Khalvashi Mr. Kim in Hwan Charge, D’af-faires of the Embassy and Mr. Byun Seungwoo, Attaché of Culture of the Embassy discussed the cooperation between two countries and the directions of the future collaboration. The parties planned the implementation of the joint educational and cultural projects. The members of delegation handed BSU “The Knight in the Panther’s Skin” translated in Korean Language and the books.

In the summer 2019 Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University will be hosting Japan-the Mediterranean Sea XI International Conference “Applying Electromagnetic Engineering-for - Magnetism, Superconductivity, Multifunctional and Nanomaterials - JAPMED 11“. At the meeting dedicated to the conference organization held at the HEI, the BSU Rector Mr. Merab Khalvashi, Academician Prof. Athanasios G. Mamalis and Prof. Paata Kervalishvili agreed on the conditions of implementation of the international session.

The delegation of the Artvin Coruh University paid a visit to Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The Rector of the Artvin Coruh University, Prof. Fahrettin Tilki, Assistant Professor Mr. Mehmet Ozalp, Assistant professor Mr. Bulent Turgut, Assistant professor Mr. Mustafa Kemal Gumus, and the Expert Mr. Hakan Gultekin met the Rector of BSU Mr. Merab Khalvashi and the Staff of the Strategic Development and International Relations. They discussed the future plans and agreed on implementation of the joint educational projects.
