Prof. Merab Khalvashi, Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Prof. Andriy Krysovatiy, Rector of Ternopil National Economic University signed the Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement foresees implementation of joint study and research projects. The Memorandum also envisages the exchange programmes for the students and professors and teachers as well as implementation of scientific conferences, summer schools, training sessions and seminars. The parties also agreed to plan and work on the joint PhD education programmes.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the presentation of the exchange programmes of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). DAAD representative Max Bornman introduced the German Exchange Programmes and the conditions of participation to the students of different levels of the education programme, the professors as well as the researchers. Those interested in learning in Germany were also introduced to the Higher Education System of Germany and the programmes delivered in English as we as the scholarships.

The presentation of the EU programme “Vocational Education, Retraining and Employment/Labor Market” was delivered at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Head of Department of Employment Programmes of the Labor, Health and Social Service Agency of the Refugees from the Occupied Territories of Georgia, Mariam Azarashvili introduced the employment services and programmes created with the support of the European Union to the students of the vocational education programmes. The event was attended by Prof. Merab Khalvashi, Rector of the University, Carl Hartzell, Ambassador of EU to Georgia, Zaal Mikeladze, Minister of Health and Social Care of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara and the University professor and teachers.

Leiden University professor Iorit Rippe gave a public lecture “Contemporary Trends of Migration and Safety in EU” at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The speaker introduced the current migration processes and the related problems in Europe to the students. At the end of the lecture, the presentation of the “Book on Migration”- published with the cooperation of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and the State Commission of Migration Issues in the frame of the project ENIGMMA- was held.

An information meeting with the BA, MA and PhD students at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was aimed to introduce ERASMUS+exchange programme to the interested parties. Nana Kurshubadze- Deputy Head of the Department of Strategic Development and International Relations-spoke about the conditions of studying in International Higher Education Institutions as well as the required documentation, partner universities, duration and the available scholarships.
