Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was visited by tourism expert, head of the German International Institute of Hospitality and honorary doctor of BSU, professor Gerald Wetzel. Within the framework of the visit, Professor Gerald Wetzel held a meeting on the issues of personnel qualification, travel formalities and intercultural communication in the field of tourism with the students who will go to Germany for a three-month internship.

Within the framework of the "University Capacity Development Program" (UCBP), funded by the US State Department and the US Embassy in Georgia, the BSU Deputy Rector Anzor Beridze, the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and various higher educational institutions of Georgia paid a visit to the USA. At the meetings held on May 13-25, representatives of various American universities shared with the members of the delegation the experience of the research administrators of American universities, the specifics of working with scientific foundations and presented specific research projects.

A lecture on international hotel management was held for the students of the "Tourism Management" master`s program. The annual meeting on current issues of hotel business and hospitality is conducted by Professor Stefan Gerhard, honorary doctor of BSU, executive director of Solutions Holding GmbH, member of the advisory board of the German Hotel Congress. The two-day lecture covers international hotel business, global trends and hotel megatrends. 14 students participating in the lecture will be hosted by a German expert on a study visit to Berlin and introduced to the activities of branded hotels.

The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was visited by the judge of the Erfurt Regional Court, the author of numerous scientific publications, Martin Borovski. The German professor gave public lectures on the topic - "EU law in brief" for practicing lawyers and policy makers for the students of the undergraduate educational program of Law, International Relations and European Studies; "Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union".

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was visited by Aditya Kumar Pande, Secretary of the Indian Embassy (Armenia) Consulate. The representative of the diplomatic corps met the Head of BSU administration, Merab Diasamidze, representatives of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health and the Department of Strategic Development and International Relations. The parties discussed the living conditions of foreign students in Georgia and the services of studying in the educational programme of Medical Doctor instructed in English. Within the framework of the visit, Aditya Kumar Pandey met the students of the Medical Doctor program instructed in English and answered their topical questions. In addition, the consul mentioned that the Indian embassy will be opened in Georgia soon.
