On June 27-28, the Central and Eastern European Rectors` Regional (C2R-ECO) and Scientific Diplomacy Conferences were held in Bucharest (Romania) organized by the University Agency of Francophonie (AUF). The annual regional rectors` conference was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the University Agencyof Francophonie (AUF) in Central and Eastern Europe. Rectors and deputy rectors of member universities of Central and Eastern Europe participated in the international conference, including representatives of 6 universities of Georgia.

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Georgia Camlin Furley along with UNHCR representatives visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. At a meeting with BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi, Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences Levan Jackeli and Head of the Department of Strategic Development and International Relations of BSU, Marina Giorgadze, Kemlin Furli talked about the prospects of cooperation with the university. According to the agreement of the parties, at the first stage, a training course on the international law of IDPs will be developed for the students of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, and relevant academic staff will be trained. It was planned to sign a memorandum of cooperation between BSU and UNHCR.

At the agricultural direction of the technological faculty of BSU, the greenhouse was renewed and equipped with modern, smart technologies. The modernization of the 400 square meter greenhouse was carried out with the funding of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the involvement of the sectoral platform "Farmer of the Future". In the greenhouse, students already have the opportunity to perform the practical component with a modern computer program, managing the technologies of plant drip irrigation, fertigation and microclimate control.

Along with the researchers, the director of the Georgian study program of Harvard University, the famous American historian, professor Steven Jones visited BSU. At the meeting with the rector, Merab Khalvashi, the vice-rectors, Tamar Siradze, Anzor Beridze and professors, Professor Steven Jones got acquainted with the results of the scientific research of the BSU Kartveliology Center and spoke about the directions of future cooperation between Harvard University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. According to the agreement of the parties, it was planned to develop and implement joint educational-scientific projects of the universities.

International Education Day was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. At the event, the experience of participating in Erasmus+ exchange programs was shared by foreign students who came within the framework of international mobility and BSU students participating in Erasmus+ exchange programs. Within the framework of the International Education Day, those wishing to receive education abroad got acquainted with the exchange programs and teaching conditions of the leading universities. Certificates for active participation in university life were presented to foreign students at the event.
